User Defined Service Areas in Referrals Profile
Current Issue:
At present, service areas in Command are determined solely by past closings (Rolling 12 months). This creates a major pain point for agents—especially top producers and independent brokerages transitioning to KW—because:
It misrepresents service areas – Just because an agent has closed a one-off deal in a certain location doesn’t mean they actively serve that area.
It limits visibility in the Referral Applet – Agents who are new to KW or have past experience in other brokerages cannot showcase their true service areas until they build a closing history within KW. This is frustrating for top agents and Indies who previously had access to this feature elsewhere.
It creates a competitive disadvantage – Many agents are coming from brokerages that allowed them to define and control their service areas. The inability to do so in Command makes the transition to KW feel like a step backward in terms of visibility and referral opportunities.
Proposed Solution:
Default Service Area: Agents should be automatically assigned to their Market Center’s territory as a baseline.
Customizable Service Areas: Allow agents to manually select and define their primary service areas beyond their past closings.
Import Historical MLS Transaction Data: Provide a way for agents joining KW to bring in past transactional data to accurately represent their service footprint. Without disruption to KW reporting data.

commentedBeing an indie brokerage and moving over to KW, this has caused an issue with all my agents. I would love to see this problem solved.
