How to make Vendors searchable within Command
So my broker told me she wanted a better layout for our vendors list.(We currently have an excel spread sheet) I began playing around in command and found that even though we put our vendors contact info in command with a description of what they do the what the do part in the description wasn't searchable in contacts. For instance if i needed a window reapairman i can't just type window and it pull up my contacts for my window repair vendors. I wanted to know what made information searchable in command. I tried making a smart view for all of my vendors which works great, but within all of my 300+ vendors i still couldn't search a type whether it be flooring, windows etc and it pull up only my window vendors. So i tried adding a custom field with a textbox to add their description and that still didn't make it searchable. I found that only email and names are searchable within command, so when i went on a zoom call with my maps coach Nicole and we found that we could type out their description in the "additional email" section and just tack on @gmail on the end of whatever the vendors description was for example (Windowsandshowerglass@gmail.com) Then once i went back to contacts and searched "windows" it pulled up any contact with the word window in it there for making my vendors list easily searchable down to what each vendor does if i just went in and typed windows i could easily have every window repair-mans contact information readily available upon search.
