Need to improve the search parameters for duplicate contacts merging
I find it incredible that it took command approx 4 Years before it added a merge feature within our contacts database. Even though KW states "Your database is your business. " What's very disappointing in using the Search for Duplicates feature is that it is very obvious little thought went into the design of the search parameters. I searched my Database for possible duplicates and came up with 611 "possible duplicates" Anyone that had the same work phone # was considered a possible duplicate. How is it possible the search parameters did not so much as consider at least 2 or more matches Such as someone with the same Name and the same phone #? This is a request for the designers to make an immediate adjustment to improve current search conditions to make Phone Numbers become an "AND SEARCH" in regards to the Contacts name. In other words Similar Phone #'s must also match in Name. This will greatly reduce the number of FALSE duplicates. I did not study this in depth but if they currently have this set up for matched addresses anyone that works at the same place would also show up as a possible duplicate. I hope it won't take 3 years for them to make this relatively simple adjustment. KW Command would do well to study the merge capabilities within Google Contacts and should do all they can to make Command Contacts merging as good or better than features found within just about any other contacts platform.
